I hope everyone enjoyed yesterday’s cover! That was drawn by Jack Kirby back in the swinging sixties. [ed. note- Not really, TL.] Bullfinch comics were all the rage back then. Jack could work so fast back then he would whip off his Marvel and DC books and then fire off a Bullfinch on the weekend. [ed. note- What? That never happened!] There was a western, starring Lance, “The Lance Dance Kid” and “Bullfinch Team-Up” and of course “Bumpa Lumpa Comics”. They didn’t sell as well as Marvel but kids would pick them up at their local grocery store and thrill to the tales of all the Bullfinch characters. [ed. note- Now you just spiralled off into crazy town.]

This is the Th3rdworld booth at Baltimore. We had a great location and we saw a lot of foot traffic. That’s me in the middle doing sketches. One of the vendors was selling that giant Hulk statue for three grand!
I put up some of my sketches in the Extras page up top, take a look. We gave away them all away to comic fans in the hope of drumming up some attention for our comics. I did sign them and put our websites on them, though.

Great weekend for me in Baltimore! I handed out tons of my postcards and sketches, and we met with a lot of different people. It was a great experience for me being at a con with actual work to promote. I was with the Th3rdworld guys at their booth all weekend while we promoted Creature Feature and their upcoming book, Stuff of Legend, which comes out next year. Most of Saturday I spent doing sketches for people, some on my postcards, some on regular sketch boards, and a few in sketchbooks brought around by Con-goers. I also did a Wonder Woman sketch which will be auctioned off at some point by a comic book store. I’ll have details on that later. I met with a lot of other web cartoonists and got a lot of good advice on site design and advertising, great stuff. I’ll have more pictures and information tomorrow!
